We believe and confess that Christ alone is
head of the Church giving the Church its faith and life, its unity and
mission, and its officers and ordinances. Through our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Church is called into being and given all that is necessary
for its mission to the world, for its building up, and for its service
to God. Through our ministry together, we strive to uphold
Christ's call to all of us through the six Great Ends of the Church,
which are:
-
the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of
humankind
-
the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of
the children of God
-
the maintenance of divine worship
-
the preservation of the truth
-
the promotion of social righteousness
-
and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the
world.
Christian Education Ministry - oversees the
Christian Education program of the church by training and equipping
teachers, reviewing curriculum, developing and growing our Sunday
school, Youth group, LOGOS, Vacation Bible School, and Confirmation
programs.
Congregational Care Ministry - provides meals and
transportation as needed by our congregation, visits shut-ins, the
elderly, the sick, the bereaved, and visitors, maintains a
congregational prayer chain through a congregational and session phone
tree, and maintains our communal relationships with college students.
Member Fellowship Ministry - organizes and coordinates
fellowship events such as Men's Fellowship breakfasts, coffee times, lunches and dinners, camping
trips, and retreats. Works with the other ministries to help find
people to serve, and works with new members to get them acclimated and
involved in the life and ministry of this church. Mission and Outreach Ministry
- helps the congregation to discover what God is doing in the world and
educates the congregation on what the larger church is doing in the
world through its work with local and global outreach programs, and
through its various mission trips in the U.S. and overseas. Worship
and Music Ministry - maintains and plans the
regular and special worship services, trains, equips, and schedules
elders to serve communion and to participate in the worship service with
the pastor, works with the music and choir directors to continue to
develop our music program, trains and schedules ushers for the worship
services, and provides children's packets for our children to use during
worship.
Buildings and Grounds Ministry - provides for the
maintenance and general upkeep of our building and property, oversees
the usage, safety, and security of the church building and property in
order to provide a place to meet the needs of the community. |
