Theology is a way of thinking about God and
God's relation to the world. The theology and faith of the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A), or PCUSA, belongs to a larger tradition
known as the Reformed tradition or Reformed faith.
As the name implies, the theological tenets and beliefs of the Reformed tradition has its origins from the work of the Reformers of the 16th century, particularly John Calvin, whose writings articulated much of what Presbyterians believe. Among these are the sovereignty of God, authority of Scripture, salvation by grace through faith, and the priesthood of all believers.
